Summer’s Song

By Rocky Steen-Rolfzen & Jeff Rolfzen

Summer star, Summer star please spare a wish for me

And when you fall from up where you are

Be sure that I will see

Will he wait, will he wait to see what the evening brings

If he stays send him away

And let me go roaming

Those cool dry winds September sends are slowly blowing in

The gentle ease of August’s breeze is slowly fleeting

Then he went, then he went down the road to the Round-up Inn

A rowdy bar where fans of radio stars go out for love and drinking

Stay awake I must stay awake because he’ll be coming home to me

And I need to get away before he’s home by daybreak

Back to where my sleeping head should be

Those cool dry winds September sends are slowly blowing in

The gentle ease of August’s breeze is slowly fleeting

Summer star, Summer star please spare a little wish for me

And when you fall from up where you are

Be sure my eyes will see

You falling

Oh be sure I will see
