No Place to Be

By Rocky Steen-Rolfzen & Jeff Rolfzen

You know some days I wanna go back to The West where I was born

To the flat wheat fields and the railroad tracks a place to call my home

But I’ll never go back there no I just can’t return

There are too many lessons left to be learned

About living a life on the run it ain’t easy but it’s better than waiting alone

Oh no I’ve got a feeling that I’m driving to the end

A good life just can’t be found when you’ve lost your only friend

So long these old feeling that brought me close to you

I hope you’ll never be lonely when I don’t come home

You know sometimes I wanna be somewhere in the city where you can’t find me

Drinking in taverns on dirty streets with no place to be

I could hustle for a dollar just to buy some bread

Or make a decent living singing songs for drunk men

Maybe they’ll take me any way I am just as long as I can hold a tune

Oh no I’ve got a feeling that I’m driving to the end

A good life just can’t be found when you’ve lost your only friend

So long these old feeling that brought me close to you

I hope you’ll never be lonely when I don’t come home

Most of the time I wanna fly far across the ocean just to feel what it’s like

To leave all my worries and troubles behind and never return again

But I’m never gonna give myself a chance to go

It feels like hope has finally left my door

And I can’t explain the way that I feel so I guess you’ll never know

Oh no I’ve got a feeling that I’m driving to the end

A good life just can’t be found when you’ve lost your only friend

So long these old feeling that brought me close to you

I hope you’ll never be lonely when I don’t come home

I hope you’ll never be lonely when I don’t come home
